In Game 1 of the Bromley Indoor Winter Pairs League - Boys Autumn 2025 Series, Sidcup took to the stage against Bromley Vampires.
Congratulations to Finn and Midhun, who made their debuts in U10/U11 cricket and were welcomed by four more experienced U11's in Felicity, Reece, Murphy and Dominic.

Sidcup bowled first, restricting Bromley to a score of just 58 runs. It took some time for our fielders to warm up and adjust to the fast-paced format, where backing up in the field and being wise about attempting run outs (which can be hugely costly if the wrong decisions are made). However, disciplined bowling meant Sidcup only gave away 16 extras (bowling only 4 no balls and 2 wides). Notable bowling performances came from:

• Dominic - two wickets for ten runs
• Felicity - 1 wicket for 6 runs
• Midhun - 1 wicket for 6 runs

When it came to batting, Sidcup certainly brought the fireworks with some spectacular displays of hitting as well as excellent running between the wickets. The top batting performances went to:

• Reece - 32 off 8 balls at an unbelievable strike rate of 400!!!,
• Murphy - 20 off 9 balls at a strike rate of 222
• Dom - 15 off 5 balls
• Midhun - 14 off 7 balls.

Indoor Pairs cricket rewards teams who take wickets and punishes those who give their wicket away, thanks to a rule whereby each team gets 3 bonus runs for every wicket their bowlers take. As Sidcup took wickets and only got out 3 times, Bromley finished with a net score of 67 versus Sidcup's net score of 130!
