In Game 2 of the Bromley Indoor Winter Pairs League - Boys Autumn 2025 Series, a nail-biting affair against Beckenham.

Congratulations to Ryan Curtis who made his debut in our U10/U11 programme after stepping up from U9s last season.

Sidcup bowled first, restricting a talented Beckenham team to a score of 59 runs. The pick of the bowlers this time were:

• Felicity, who kept it really tight with just 5 runs off her over,
• Finn, who took 2 wickets for 10 runs,
• Murphy, who in the final over, against Beckenham's two big-hitters, restricted the opposition to just 6 runs off the final over.

A much more difficult test of our batting followed thanks to some high-quality, quick bowling and committed fielding from Beckenham that made scoring runs extremely difficult. The whole team did amazingly to ensure that not a single wicket fell (a spectacular achievement that I do not recall happening in any game last winter). Knocks of 11 runs off 5 balls from Murphy and a very well shepherded 14 off 9 from Dom supported by the rest of the team, Sidcup managed to post a batting total of 54 runs.

But, ultimately, it was Sidcup's defiance to not get out that meant the team got over the line in Game 2, finishing on a net score of 63 to Beckenham's net score of 59.
